Custom Jewelry

Custom

Custom work is one of my favorite parts of being a jeweler. Whether to commemorate love, loss, or transition, I am honored to help bring your ideas to life in metal and stone.

Process

Discovery

We'll start by getting to know you and your vision for the piece. We'll discuss your preferences for color and shape, aesthetic, gemstones, and metals. We'll also talk about the occasion for the piece and the message you want it to convey.

Stone Selection

If your piece requires it, I'll start by sourcing stones. I have many years of experience in the industry and a long list of suppliers, so I can help you find anything from antique diamonds to fair trade colored stones to rare specimens. I love a stone sourcing challenge - and I guarantee we'll have fun on the hunt!

Design

Once your stones are selected, I will sketch some initial concepts and we'll work together to refine the design until it's exactly what you want. I typically design initial ideas with digital sketches, then move to 3D renderings or physical (wax or silver) models when needed.

Fabrication

Once the design is approved, I'll make your piece! We’ll create a hand carved or 3D printed wax model of your piece for casting. All stone setting and finishing is completed by me in my Oakland studio. I can also offer engraving services if your project requires it.

Delivery

When the piece is finished, you can pick up in my Oakland studio or I can ship to you. Typical custom projects take 8-12 weeks to complete - but they are sometimes faster, and sometimes longer (if we’re hunting for a very specific stone). If you’re hoping to meet a target delivery deadline, let me know and I can work towards it.
